![]() ![]() Plus, what makes them so amazing is that most of the creatures are unique to Middle Eastern/Islamic culture, so the reader experiences a lot of new things that aren’t prominent in European fantasy stories. Other books have promised me unique worlds and creatures but none have delivered half as much as Daevabad. If you’re a more visual learner like me, having those images in your head will enhance the experience even more.īut I digress, I loved the world building because it was so unlike any fantasy world I had seen before. ![]() ![]() For some readers that may sound intimidating, but I promise you a quick google search is not going to break your focus. ![]() (Side note: I also did a lot of googling to find out what certain things looked like) It was a great learning experience for me and it helped me visualize elements of the world better. I’ve never been to the Middle East, so I loved reading the descriptions of the foods, fashions and even the cities. Incredible World BuildingĬhakraborty creates a BEAUTIFUL world, both inside of Daevabad and outside of it. Now that I’ve finished both books, I felt the need to share my thoughts about some of the series’ strongest features. (By hype I mean all my close friends read them and were begging me to start them) When I started each book, I was unable to put them down because they were so interesting. There’s been a lot of hype for the Daevabad books, so I decided to read them this month and see what they were all about. ![]()
